Player Profile: Jonathan Albaladejo

I have two cards of Jonathan Albaladejo. This one is from 2008 Upper Deck Timeline.

Playing career: After making his major league debut with Washington in 2007, Jonathan Albaladejo pitched parts of the next three years with the Yankees. He went 5-1 for the 2009 World Champs.

My memories: I was disappointed he didn’t get more of a shot in the Yankees bullpen last year after leaving the International League in saves. They sure could use him this year.

Where he is now: Pitching for the Yomiuri Giants in Japan. In 25 games this season he is 1-2 with a 1.80 ERA.

Google Autocomplete results: He is fifth when you type Jonathan Al, between Jonathan Allen, a reporter for POLITICO, and Jonathan Alvarado, a Bishop at Total Grace Christian Center in Georgia. There do not appear to be any other prominent Jonathan Albaladejos.

Coming up next: The next profile will be Jose Alberro.
